Harrisburg, PA -- Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn today announced the appointment of Haley Redmond to serve as the manager of Mount Pisgah State Park in Bradford County.
“Haley’s passion for the outdoors and commitment to improving the visitor experience are a perfect fit for beautiful Mount Pisgah,”
Dunn said. “We are excited to have her there and believe she will be valuable asset to the park and to the surrounding community.”
Redmond assumed managerial duties in August, overseeing the 1,302-acre park, which is along Mill Creek at the base of Mt. Pisgah.
A dam on Mill Creek forms the 75-acre Stephen Foster Lake, which provides opportunities for fishing, boating, and skating. The park lies within the Endless Mountains Heritage Region and the Route 6 Heritage Corridor.
“The outdoors are where I feel the most at home and I am grateful for the opportunity to manage this amazing and peaceful park,”
Redmond said. “I look forward to connecting with visitors and seeing people enjoy the serene environment here at Mount Pisgah.”
Prior to managing the park, Redmond worked as a law enforcement ranger in Colorado, held various environmental technician and scientist roles in the private sector, as a resource ranger at Pymatuning State Park, and most recently served as a park manager trainee in DCNR’s Central Office.
Redmond is a Freeport, Pennsylvania native who holds an undergraduate degree in geology and two graduate degrees in parks and resource management and environmental education from Clarion University.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, cross country skiing, birding, exploring Pennsylvania’s geology, and spending time with her cat, Pumpkin.
