Five
Convicted of Murder in Philadelphia, Allegheny, Bucks and York Counties
Harrisburg – Governor Tom Corbett today signed
execution warrants for five individuals: one convicted of murder for the
beating death of a man during a robbery in Philadelphia County; one convicted
of killing his wife and son in Allegheny County; one convicted for the shooting
deaths of a man and woman in Bucks County; one convicted for the shooting
deaths of two men in Bucks County; and, one convicted for the shooting death of
a man in York County.
Terrance
Williams was
convicted in Philadelphia County Court of first-degree murder for the beating
death of Amos Norwood during a robbery on June 11, 1984.
Kenneth
Hairston was
convicted in Allegheny County Court of two counts of first-degree murder for
beating to death with a sledgehammer his wife Katherine, and their teenage
autistic son Sean, on June 11, 2001.
Alfonso
Sanchez was
convicted in Bucks County Court of two counts of first-degree murder for the
shooting deaths of Lisa Diaz and Mendez Thomas on October 16, 2007.
Sanchez received a death sentence for the murder of Ms. Diaz and a life
sentence for the murder of Mr. Thomas.
Robert
Diamond was
convicted in Bucks County Court of two counts of first-degree murder for the
shooting deaths of Angel Guadalupe and Reginald Woodson August 1, 2008.
Kevin
Mattison was
convicted in York County Court of first-degree murder for the shooting death of
Christian Agosto during a robbery on December 9, 2008.
All
five men are incarcerated at the State Correctional Institution at Greene.
Williams’ execution has been scheduled for March 4, 2015; Hairston’s execution
has been scheduled for March 5, 2015; Sanchez’s execution has been scheduled
for March 10, 2015; Diamond’s execution has been scheduled for March 11, 2015;
and Mattison’s execution has been scheduled for March 12, 2015.
The
execution warrants signed today for Williams, Hairston, Sanchez, Diamond and
Mattison represents Governor Corbett’s 44th through 48th warrants signed,
respectively, since taking office.
