Harrisburg, PA - Department of Human Services (DHS) Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh today announced the launch of a survey to collect feedback from Medicaid enrollees about their experience completing their annual renewal. The survey is being conducted in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh’s Medicaid Research Center, and feedback collected will be used to inform renewal outreach strategies moving forward. Participants will be contacted via text message.
“Because of the end of the Medicaid continuous coverage period, DHS implemented new outreach strategies to help people prepare for and complete their annual Medicaid renewal so they stay covered or are connected to new options through Pennie®,” said Secretary Arkoosh. “As the unwinding nears its end, we want to assess these new strategies and determine what can stay in place to help Pennsylvanians continue to complete their annual renewals on time and avoid lapses in coverage. Participating in this survey will help us understand what worked and what was helpful, so if you get that text or email, please take a few minutes to help strengthen the renewal process for all Medicaid recipients.”
The survey will formally launch today, and participants will be invited via text message. Text messages will be sent from 1-844-410-2713 and will read:
“The University of Pittsburgh, at the request of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, is surveying people about their healthcare coverage so the process can be improved. Can you please take a minute to fill out a survey about your experience? If you want more information, click here or call 1-844-655-2300. If you want to start the survey, click here.
Text STOP at any time to opt out of text messaging. Text and message rates may apply.”
Questions in the survey will not ask for any unique individually identifying information and will just speak to your experience completing a Medicaid renewal and certain demographics data. Participation is voluntary and responses are anonymous – participation in the survey does not affect a person’s ability to enroll in or continue Medicaid participation.
